The Fundraising Chair is responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing fundraising activities that support the Athletic Boosters’ 1/3/5 year plans and supports all Big Walnut team fundraising initiatives. This role leads fundraising strategy, organizes events, and ensures funds are raised in a compliant, ethical, and efficient manner.

Fundraising Strategy, Planning & Execution
* Develop and lead an **annual fundraising plan** aligned with organizational goals
* Identify diverse fundraising opportunities (events, sponsorships, donations, bingo, etc.)
* Set fundraising targets and track progress throughout the year
* Coordinate logistics including venues, permits, volunteers, and materials
* Ensure events operate smoothly and safely

Sponsorships & Community Engagement
* Develop relationships with local businesses and sponsors
* Secure sponsorships, donations, and in‑kind contributions
* Promote fundraising efforts within the community, schools, and athletic programs

* Collaborate with communications or social media volunteers
* Create or coordinate flyers, emails, and announcements

Financial Coordination & Reporting
* Work closely with the Treasurer to:
   Track fundraising revenue and expenses
   Ensure proper documentation and accountability
   Support accurate reporting for each event
*  Ensure funds are used in alignment with the nonprofit mission

*  Provide regular updates to the board on:
* Fundraising performance vs. goals
* Event outcomes and lessons learned
* Maintain records of fundraising activities and contacts

Volunteer Leadership
* Recruit, organize, and supervise fundraising volunteers
* Assign roles and responsibilities for events
* Provide guidance and training on procedures and expectations


Qualifications
* Strong organizational and leadership skills
* Experience in event planning, sales, or fundraising (preferred)
* Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
* Effective communication and relationship‑building skills
* Basic financial awareness (budgeting, tracking revenue/expenses)
* Experience working with volunteers or community groups (preferred)

Time Commitment

*  Term 1–2 year volunteer board or committee leadership position, as defined by the bylaws
*  Monthly planning & coordination: 8–15 hours
*  Per fundraising event: 5–10 hours
